Coverage: 2014-06-30–2025-06-30
Sum of 318 non-overlapping local authorities on April 2023 boundaries. Uses the full revised July 2026 time series, not earlier vintages. International arrivals are moves from outside the UK for at least 12 months, including returning British citizens; moves from Scotland and Northern Ireland are internal and excluded. Flows cover the year ending 30 June; population is at 30 June. Estimates are uncertain and subject to revision; unrounded counts are not accurate to individual people. Original XLSX is preserved as ordered byte parts with a reconstruction manifest and checksums.

Calculated totals for the 43 territorial police forces in England and Wales, excluding British Transport Police throughout. Not the UK total or the ONS headline including BTP. Four non-overlapping quarters form each year ending June. Negative quarterly corrections are retained when summing, not changed to zero. Homicide sums codes 1, 4.1, 4.10 and 4.2; robbery 34A and 34B; shoplifting 46. Recorded-year counts can include historic cases; recording, reporting and revisions affect trends. Rates calculated here use the matching ONS June-end population, not a source-published crime rate. No offender nativity or citizenship information is present.

Coverage: 2012-01-01–2025-12-31
May 2026 release; official statistics in development. Estimates are rounded to the nearest 1,000; published net migration uses unrounded estimates so rounded components may differ by 1,000. British and EU+ methods change from year ending June 2021: comparisons across this break need caution. 2025 estimates are provisional. Nationality is not country of birth or immigration status. 95% simulation uncertainty intervals, where reported, do not capture all sources of error and may understate uncertainty.

Census day: 21 March 2021. England and Wales only; no values for Scotland or Northern Ireland are inferred. Usual residents. Country of birth is not nationality, citizenship, ethnicity or legal status. Disclosure control uses record swapping and cell-key perturbation, so table totals may differ slightly. These historical census counts must not be presented as current population estimates.

Census day 27 March 2011; all usual residents. England and Wales and English regions only. Cells 0 and 100 are total and UK-born residents. Non-UK-born = total minus UK-born. The UK-born/non-UK-born split is comparable with TS004 in 2021 at these unchanged country and region scopes; detailed overseas categories are not harmonised. Disclosure control and census estimation can affect counts. Change in the resident population is not a count of arrivals or net migration.

Reg_01 is provisional local management information as at 30 June 2026, subject to revisions and location-recording errors. It has not all been quality assured to the level of Official Statistics. Supported asylum counts people including dependants receiving Section 4, 95 or 98 support; it excludes unaccompanied children and care leavers. Contingency accommodation includes hotels but is not a hotels-only count. Afghan Resettlement Programme includes ARAP, ACRS and ARR cohorts; unknown location is included in the UK total. Accommodation moves may not be fully reflected. These are population stocks, not annual arrivals, and are not the total refugee or foreign-born population. The table’s cumulative Homes for Ukraine arrivals are deliberately not added to these stocks.

England and Wales prisons only; excludes Scotland and Northern Ireland. Stocks on 30 June, not offences committed or annual convictions. Nationality does not identify birthplace or immigration status. Sentence length, remand, enforcement, transfers and release policies affect prison stocks. Unknown nationality remains separate. Non-criminal custody is explicitly separated. Some offence groups may include immigration offences; the source does not isolate those offences. Offence coverage and recording can change.
