2010–2025These are recorded suspects, not findings of guilt or convictions.
Definitions & limitations
Police suspect registrations, including suspects without a registered Dutch address. Three suspects for one crime count three times; one person suspected in three crimes also counts three times. These are not convictions, unique people or crime incidents. Dutch includes people treated as Dutch under the Moluccans Facilities Act; Dutch dual nationals are Dutch. Stateless/unknown is excluded from the foreign remainder. 2024–2025 are provisional; counts are rounded to tens. Categories overlap and must not be added together. Nationality does not identify birthplace, naturalization or immigration status.
These data identify citizenship or nationality. They do not separately identify foreign-born people or naturalized citizens. Counts are not population rates, and changes can reflect reporting, enforcement or justice-system practices.
